Lent 2024: Support your local fish fry!
Area parishes and organizations will host fish dinners to provide fellowship and assist the faithful in abstaining from meat each Friday of Lent. Additional fish dinner information can be forwarded to news@scdiocese.org.
Fort Dodge - The Knights of Columbus Fish Fry will be served each Friday in Lent. Menu includes fried fish, baked fish, shrimp, combo platter or grilled cheese sandwich. Sides include French fries or baked potato, coleslaw, roll and ice cream. They will serve from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Center at 403 North 8th Street. Le Mars Knights of Columbus – Fish fry held Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent at the KC Hall. Dine-in or drive-through for $12. Madrid St. Malachy Church/Ascension Parish – Fish Fry dates are Feb. 16, March 8 and March 22 in Hansen Hall, starting at 4:30 p.m. Manson - The Knights of Columbus will have a fish dinner March 22 in the St. Thomas Parish Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults: $13 and children 12 and under $5. Onawa St. John Parish – The Knights of Columbus are hosting their fish dinners March 8 and 22, serving from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Dine-in, takeout and drive through all available. They will serve Alaskan pollack, scalloped potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, roll and beverages. Adult meals are $12, children ages five to 12 eat for $6 with children four and younger eating free. Proceeds to benefit diocesan vocations and charitable projects. Pocahontas - The Knights of Columbus will be hosting their fish fry March 22 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Rock Rapids – Fish dinners are Feb. 23, March 8 and March 22 at the Forster Community Center, serving from 5 to 7 p.m. All you can eat for $15, adults $12, grades 1 to 6 eat for $5 and kindergarten and younger eat free. Proceeds fund the Holy Mary Knights of Columbus scholarships for local high school seniors. Rock Valley St. Mary Church/Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish – Fish dinners will be Feb. 23 and March 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Cost is $12 per adult, $6 per child ages 5 to 10 and children under 5 eat free. Meal includes fish, French fries, coleslaw, bars, cookies and beverage. Sheldon St. Patrick – Annual Fish Fry will be March 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. They will serve dine-in with takeout meals available upon request. Menu includes fried fish, baked beans, potatoes, roll and dessert. The cost is a free will donation with a $12 per person suggestion. Proceeds benefit the Sheldon Ministerial Fund. Sioux City St. Michael Church/Holy Cross Parish – Every Friday in Lent 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Adults $13 and kids meal $5 (dine in only). Serving cod, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans, salad bar, roll and desserts. Sioux City Mater Dei Men’s Club – 38th annual Fish Fry at the Nativity Center on Fridays Feb. 16 to March 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults $13, 12 and younger $5 and 3 and younger eat free. Baked and fried fish available, French fries or au gratin potatoes, coleslaw, roll and dessert. Dine-in or drive-up. Sioux City Sacred Heart - Fridays of Lent from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults $12, children 6-10 eat for $6 and under 6 free. Baked and fried fish, fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, potatoes, corn, roll and dessert. Storm Lake - The Knights of Columbus Council 2326 are sponsoring a fish fry March 8 and 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. (or until fish is gone) at the Columbus Club Hall. They will serve fried fish, potatoes, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, roll and dessert for $12 for those 12 and older, $8 for ages5 to 12 and those under5 eat for free. Four butterfly shrimp available for a $3 add on to the fish order. West Bend – KCs 35th Annual Fish Fry will be held at the West Bend Golf and Country Club Feb 23, March 8 and March 22 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. or until fish is gone. Cost is $13 for 11 and older, $7 for ages 5-10, 4 and younger eat free. (Price reduction.) They will serve fish, potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, roll, ice cream sundae, coffee, milk and water. For carry outs, call (515) 320-3600. Shut-in delivery available upon request. |
