Sister Elizabeth Huber, BVM, is celebrating her 70th jubilee with the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She entered the convent September 8, 1955.
The Iowa March for Life will be June 21 from noon to 3 p.m. The educational booths and rally will be in the Iowa State Capitol Rotunda. The march will be outside around the capitol and supreme court building.
The fourth-degree Knights of Columbus hosted a silver rose ceremony on June 15, at Trinity Heights. More than 50 people are attended the prayer service to reaffirm their dedication to the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death. Knight Dennis Kluver hosted the event and Father Randy Schon provided the consecration and blessing that coordinate with the traveling silver rose. The prayer service and rosary was moved indoors, as a thundercloud approached.

The Iowa Catholic Daughters recently sponsored an education contest and Mary Beth Gehling of CDA Court Our Lady of LaSalette #1585 of Milford received second place in Poetry, Division IV.

Deacon David La Mar of Ascension Parish of Boone County and his friend Deacon Tom Bradley of the Des Moines Diocese led a three-day Camino de San Lorenzo in Central Iowa last weekend.
CDA Court Our Lady of LaSalette #1585 of Milford hosted a Salad Luncheon on May 3. The theme was “All Fun and Games.” Elegance by Sarah Ruhs of Okoboji provided the style show. Profits from the salad luncheon and raffle items are used to fund court projects.
Two native sons from the Diocese of Sioux City were recently ordained. Father Lee Noel was ordained a priest May 28 for the Diocese of Cheyenne (Wyoming). He is pictured with Deacon Alex Solsma, recently ordained a transitional deacon for the Diocese of Arlington (Virginia).

In their work of coordinating missionary formation and animating a missionary spirit on the local level, I would ask the National Directors to give priority to visiting dioceses, parishes and communities, and in this way to help the faithful to recognize the fundamental importance of the missions and supporting our brothers and sisters in those areas of our world where the Church is young and growing.
On May 18, Humboldt St. Mary Church celebrated Baccalaureate Mass with 26 graduates from the Class of 2025. Scholarship recipients were also announced. Following Mass, the St. Mary's Women of the Spirit ladies' society hosted a breakfast reception for the graduates in the parish hall.
On May 20, five women were welcomed into the Confraternity of Christian Mothers in the Sioux City Mater Dei Parish, Unit #3639, as part of the ritual of solemn reception. Father Peter Nyugen presided.
