Corpus Christi events 2022

The Feast of Corpus Christi will be celebrated on June 19 this year. The following is a listing of Corpus Christi processions at parishes throughout the diocese.

Algona Divine Mercy - The parish will have a eucharistic procession after the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Cecilia Church in Algona. Sunday,  June 19.

Boone Sacred Heart – The Feast of Corpus Christi will be celebrated on June 16 (Thursday). Mass will be held at 5  p.m. followed by a eucharistic procession and ending on the school playground. From 6 to 9 p.m. live entertainment (jazz group) will be available along with children’s activities and food trucks.

Hospers St. Anthony – There will be a Corpus Christi Procession will be held following 10 a.m. Mass on June 19. A reception provided by the Guild will follow in the church cafeteria.

Madrid St. Malachy - St. Malachy Parish in Madrid will have a Corpus Christi Procession immediately following the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Procession will be on the grounds with prayers said at each of the three chapels. Refreshments and donuts following in the parish hall.

Oyens St. Catherine – A Corpus Christi procession will follow the 11 a.m. Mass. The procession will include a stop at two chapels on the grounds to pray for peace, safety for the farmers, harvest, military, vocations, right to life and families. After the procession, there will be refreshments in the school. St. Catherine has offered this traditional procession for 122 years.

Sioux City Cathedral – This event kicks off the diocesan Eucharistic Revival - with Bishop Nickless. All are welcome. The Corpus Christi procession will be held after the 10 a.m. Mass. Parishioners will walk around the block and stop at two altars along the way.

Sioux City Holy Cross – A Corpus Christi procession will be held after the 11 a.m. Mass. It will start at St. Michael Church and go to Blessed Sacrament. A hot dog and ice cream lunch will follow.

Sioux City Mater Dei – The parish will host the annual Mater Dei Corpus Christi Procession on June 19. The procession will start at Immaculate Conception after the 10 a.m. Mass and end at Nativity Church with benediction at the end of 11 a.m. Mass. There will be two prayer stops along the way. A van will be provided for people to ride in if they choose.

Willey St. Mary - There will be Mass at 11 a.m. June 19, followed by the procession.   There will be a meal served after the procession with St. Mary’s scholarships distributed at the meal.
